Bursitis of the elbow treated with arthroscopic bursectomy
A bursa is a fluid-filled sac that can become inflamed and swollen. In olecranon bursitis the inflamed bursa is removed arthroscopically. Arthroscopic elbow bursectomy is a minimally invasive technique that avoids the long healing time an open bursectomy requires.
TENEX procedure for tennis elbow
Tennis elbow is a tendon problem on the outer aspect of the elbow. Treatment ranges from physical therapy to surgery. This patient underwent a minimally invasive procedure called TENEX. A small needle with an ultrasonic tip is guided by ultrasound to the damaged tendon tissue, which is then removed. There is usually no downtime and recovery is fairly rapid.
